Anyone heard of a snorkel????
Howdy ya'll, I'm new to the forum but I've had my JK sence about march. glad to see there is a helpful forum here and not one like "my jeep can climb this big rock, HA!" forum. BUt any ways.... I was wandering if anyone had heard any news about a snorkel kit for the JK yet. I know how the TJ's hook up but I think that there is too much electronics garbage in the way. HAs anyone McGyvered one? I'd like to know. thanks in advance for your time.
i guess i'll hit the drawing board then, i was working on a roof rack set up that you build from parts at lowes/home depot (not pvc so don't start
. but I guess i'll keep ya'll posted. maybe after I ge through trig this semester i'll have a prototype to show ya'll. it'll be clean i promise

I was on the forum earlier...a thread about CAI's. A member was saying he removed his AirRaid because he got a snorkel...even posted pictures...I just can't remember which thread it was.

the river raid does look cool, i like the way it follows the body lines and it looks semi factory. however if you ever wanted to add a roof rack or other accessery like that (light bar, ect) or even lay the hood on the windshield there might be a problem. I'm not saying i couldn't be done, but.... I think I'll keep my nose in my trig book and in my spar time I'll work with my friend (special effects make-up artist. he made a custom gauge pod for my 93 rx-7) and see what we can do. As far as the snorkel thing going throught the front finder, do we really have to punch a big hole for it???? I'm a noob about jeeps, I know enough to get me in trouble. like i said my last car was a sports car but I always wanted a jeep and I finally have it.
thanks for the input ya'll.

maybe not, if you have a light bar designed good,,, I design my lightbar for future snorkel,,this is the light bar uprights go in front of the windshield and not
at the sides.

Thanks for the info. As for the antenna there are several relocation options for most cars. I'm not sure what is available for the JK yet but local mobile electronics dealer can help.
