Anyone installed Tuffy Center Console yet?
I'll probably install mine this Friday evening, and I was wondering where those 2 bolts ended up underneath. Is there anything in the way?
Thanks!

I installed one a few weeks ago. I used the two bottom bolts for added security (you do not have to) but instead of drilling into the actual floor I drilled into the metal bracket that the console rests on (just above the floor). It's the bracket that aligns with the holes you will see during trial fit. Bolts are too long using this method so I had to go 1 inch shorter in order to push them up through the bottom and so they would not protrude too deep inside the console (dremmel to shorten bolts would work too). Very secure setup.

Did not drill all the way into the floor because bolt head would be at an angle under the floor where the center slopes a bit (not a big deal) and because the option I used seems the next best thing to no bolts at all without going through the floor. Also, I could later decide to go with longer bolts and drill all the way though. Don't feel it is necessary. It would take a lot of force to uproot the console as is and one would likely destroy it getting it out.

Drilling through the floor IMO does not add any extra security to the box. Just means any aggressive thief is going to tear up the thin sheet metal on the body before the bolts rip through and engage the heavy plate that the insert sits on. The 45 degree angle that the washer and nut would sit at really don't provide any more stability to the insert. I drilled through the plate and used 3 1/2" bolts instead of the 4 1/2" that Tuffy supplies. Better clamping force on the box. Besides that heavy plate is really in there, it's not going anywhere quick. Oh and I won't mention rusting and water.
