Default Anyone using Wheel Adapters

Ok, I know A LOT of us are using spacers to get a wider look for our jeeps.

Can anyone chime in on the biggest difference between wheel adapters vs. a wheel spacer. In essence, I don't think there's a big difference between the two with exception to what you're trying to accomplish... right?

My point is that given the small selection of wheels available for the JK I'm really thinking about wheel fitment adapters to go from 5 on 5, to to 5 on 4.5 or even a 5.5.

Any comments? Anyone already done this?

I am running 1.25 spacers going good for over a year now. only difference is that adpaters change the lug pattern. Alot of people hear spacer and think of the spacer that are only .25" thick and usually allow lug and stud to break off. When they see the 1.25 or so spacer they think they are adapters.

you're exactly right. they mentioned before about the other type of spacer. I have adapters from 5x5 to 5x107 to fit the rims of my old ford truck. no problems at all. I've been doing this for years (fitting different rims in different cars) the only thing that you have to consider is the backspacing of your wheels. with adapters your wheel will stick out more.

Anyone with adapters that take it back to the "classic" Jeep/Ford pattern? (5 x 5.5)
There are a ton of used wheels with that bolt pattern, especially 16 inchers that have the huge range of cheaper tire options.
