ARB compressor died!
So today I went to pressurize my air system to check out my new steel air line, and my compressor (the newish high volume ARB one, just installed a few weeks ago) fired up for a second, then fairly quickly started lugging and then stopped running all together.
I checked the voltage at the harness and it had power, the pressure switch was closed, etc. If I jiggled it, I could get it to run slowly a bit more, but it sounded very unhappy. Finally it stopped running all together.
I have it mounted in the fairly popular location near the brake booster. It does get quite hot in there, and I have noticed some unpleasant vibrations when the compressor is running and even when it is not running but I'm rolling on washboard or other terrain, but overall I haven't been concerned since I know it's a common location.
I'll definitely be calling ARB on Monday, but I was wondering if anyone else has had any issues with this compressor. It's going to be a pain in the arse to pull, but oh well

This one?

I had the same ARB compressor (CKSA12) mounted on top of the gas tank skid-plate and it died after being submerged. Could you have gotten water into the compressor intake? I'm not sure how much it would take, mine was under water for a while, I've got the intake plumbed up to the engine compartment now and it's been fine since.

Wow I hope I don't have problems!! I just installed mine this week. The only thing I was disappointed in was the threads for the air outlet weren't machine right and I had to re chase the threads so I could install the line. I think they need better quality control on this, it was way to easy to cross thread and mine did pull some threads when I tried to take it off. It's fine now but what a pain. I still would like to fine a air tank to put on this system it would help.
