Default ARB compressor problem

I went to check my oil and noticed that the cap to the air intake fell off my mini-compressor. I have notified ARB about this and I am hoping they will respond soon. I am going wheeling this weekend and will need my locker. Any problem with running this compressor this way? Here are pics to show what I am talking about. Should I get some cheese cloth and rubber band it around where cap used to be?

The end cap is a pressure fit and is usually very tight it is a pain to get off so I am not sure how it would of fallen off. You Dont want the compressor sucking dirt in so If you cant get something by this weekend I would rig something up.
