I am either deciding between the ARB deluxe bumper and the Smittybilt XRC front bumper. Whichever one I get, I want to put lights on it. I know the ARB is more $$$ but is it worth it? I like the styles of both of them and I would be happy with either, but maybe one is way better than the other and I am missing it? THANKS!

It will be going onto a red 2008 JK Wrangler X.

I want to see some pictures of your lights mounted on your ARB deluxe bumper and XRC bumper.

 

 

Both are excellent bumpers, very different though. You will get alot of opinions but it really comes down to whether or not you want a full-width bumper (and I guess your state laws on that) Here are my opinions:

The ARB is a fantastic bumper, I like that the winch fairlead is recessed, it mounts with 10 bolts, can accept about any winch, mounts the factory fogs, can mount 3 aftermarket lights (though only comes with 2 brackets) Has a built in Hi-lift mount on top of the winch hoop, and it matches up with your fender flares perfectly.
I do not like that it has those dorky plastic bumperettes sticking out, and the amber square lights look wrong when all of the other lights on the front of the jeep are round.

The smitty is very stoutly built, has mount for winches up to 10k, Better clearance while rock crawling (stubby) and you can get the bumper and a XRC winch for less than just the ARB bumper by its self.
It does not mount the factory fog lights but they do not add that much light anyway.

You should look for posts by JPTwins he has a red rubu and the smitty with HID light. Looks tough as hell!!

 

kcob...that jeep looks damn good with the xrc. thanks for the info guys. I think getting the xrc plus a winch for the price of the arb would be my best bet.
