Thumbs up ARB Locker & Dana 44 issue

A few weeks ago I posted that I had gotten an ARB locker installed in my rear dana 44 and the shop didn't fill the differential all the way up before I picked it up and thus fried the right rear wheel bearing on the interstate after less than ten miles!
UPDATE: While driving it last Friday the whole rear end locked up! I managed to get it off the road and smoke was pouring out of the input housing. I called the shop and they came with a trailer and picked it up. When they got it opened up there was plenty of oil in it but it was all in the left axle tube! Everything else was bone dry and had burned the bearings, again! The manager decided to call ARB and ask them if they had ever heard of this happening before and they had. On the inside of the diff housing there are supposed to be little notches cut in to the the casting that allows the oil to return to the center past the bearings and new shims. My diff case didn't have these notches on the left side so when the oil got in it couldn't get back out!
Long story short, the shop gave me a new rear end, housing and all! They even threw in an adjustable track bar bracket and heavy duty diff cover for my troubles.

Yeah on page 13 of the ARB install instructions it says to grind those drains in .

Guess the shop did not read the instructions.

Glad you got it fixed!

You know if those instructions are online anywhere? I was looking the other night and didn't find any instructions on ARB's website. Thanks,

They also said that when they took it appart to do the install the drivers side axle tube had more gear lube in it than normal, and more than what the passenger side had.
Maybe they should come with the extra drains from the factory?
On a rear axle application the oil is supposed to travel down the tubes there is not inner axle seals there are only outer axle seals.

If you have more on oneside then the other that could be from a turn you took prior to going in there or when they put it on the lift one axle drooped farther than the other.

No online instructions sorry but I do have them in PDF if you want to send me a email I will forward it to you .

Thanks
David
