Build up thread... A little differently. Hello all, So I have finally convinced the wife that 37's will look best on our 12' 2dr JK. Haha. With that being said, I have a lot of options to choose from when it comes to parts, so I'm asking for y'all's help to narrow down my options and actually start purchasing parts bast off popularity for, the options I have picked out so far. I will be doing a reasonable amount or rocks, tight curves around trees, and off camber situations (thanks Washington).

So how this is going to work, first off Im begging for as much participation as possible. Next I will put the category of item I'm interested in, For example "front bumper", then I will put options listed as A,B,C and so on to alleviate all confusion. Lastly, I will upkeep a current tally at the bottom of this first post. Thanks everyone for helping me out, this thread exact thread will be posted on JK-forum as well as WAYALIFE.

We will start at the front of the body and work our way back:

FRONT BUMPER:
A: ace engineering Pro series stinger w/20" light provision
B: evo offroad 1/4 with stinger
C: JCR offroad dagger series stinger
D: other

WINCH: unknown at this time need to do more research, suggestions please

ROCK RAILS:
A: ACE engineering bolt on sliders
B: smittybuilt XRC (the ones with the step for my wife)
C: evo offroad rock sliders

REAR BUMPER/TIRE CARRIER
A: Evo offroad tire carrier
B: JCR offroad rear tire carrier, deluxe
C: suggestions....

Now onto drivetrain:

GEAR RATIO (remember for 37* tire with a reasonable amount of 60+mph, manual trans)
A: 4.56
B: 4.88
C: 5.13
D: 4.10

SUSPENSION:
A: metal cloak duroflex 3.5
B: evo offroad enforcer
C: rock crawler (the lift with minimal rubbing, not sure which that is)
D: suggestions....

TIRES:
A: toyo open country M/T
B: nitro mud grapplers
C: suggestions...

WHEELS:
A: ATX slabs
B: suggestions...

This should narrow down my options a lot. Now I know this is "my jeep" and ill build it how I like but I have chose all these based off of popularity as well as performance, yet reasonably priced.. Well some of it. After I consolidate all of this over time I will make my decisions and then start looking more into upgrading the front D30, as I feel I will be able to build that cheaper than upgrading to a 44. Also lockers will be a later discussion. Once again thank you everyone! And sorry for the Novel...

So we get to vote for how you spend your money? In that case:

FRONT BUMPER:
D: other - LoD Signature Series Shorty with Stinger

WINCH: Warn

ROCK RAILS:
C: evo offroad rock sliders

REAR BUMPER/TIRE CARRIER
C: suggestions.... Poison Spyder JK RockBrawler™ II Rear Bumper with Tire Carrier

Now onto drivetrain:

GEAR RATIO (remember for 37* tire with a reasonable amount of 60+mph)
B: 4.88

SUSPENSION:
B: evo offroad enforcer

TIRES:
A: toyo open country M/T
B: nitro mud grapplers
C: suggestions...

WHEELS:
B: suggestions... Spyderlock

If it were my money, I'd start with winch, rock sliders and skid plates if you plan on doing any wheelin while you build it up. Good luck, looking forward to the outcome!

Well when you put it that way... Yes. I mean I don't have this crazy unrealistic amount of money to throw at this project, it will take time, and Probably a lot of it. I plan on doing all the work myself except for the gears and axle work.

This is my build philosophy:

Body first, then Axles, and then suspension so I can safely throw them badass 37s on there! 😁

I can stomach the 3.21s with the 33s for a while so ill deal with the axles after that way I can still go wheeling and not have to worry about destroying the body of my rig

Ill assume that money is no object...

We will start at the front of the body and work our way back:

FRONT BUMPER:
D: other
Poison spyder brawler lite. Love mine, it's held up to some pretty decent hits. Looks and works great.

WINCH: Warn Powerplant, cti-s, or zeon-s

ROCK RAILS:
C: evo offroad rock sliders

REAR BUMPER/TIRE CARRIER
A: Evo offroad tire carrier (as long as you don't plan on opening the back much)
Else...
C: suggestions....
Poison spyder brawler II or expedition one

Now onto drivetrain:

GEAR RATIO (remember for 37* tire with a reasonable amount of 60+mph)
C: 5.13

SUSPENSION:
A: metal cloak duroflex 3.5

TIRES:
A: toyo open country M/T
Love my toyos, just abit heavy.

WHEELS:
B: suggestions...
Spyderlocks. I believe that they are extremely similar to the atx slabs, both use the same style bolt, but I like the ring on the spyderlocks more.

Always fun spending other people money. Good luck on your build and be sure to post pics

It funny you say that, haha money is actually a HUGE object!! I'm in the military and we make far from good money, so this will be a long term project. I got full support from the wife to go with the project so now money is the only obstacle, but dedication and motivation will eventually prevail!!!

Open to all charity from all you vendors out there lol JK!!! Gotta earn it to really appreciate it!

LOD front, rear and sliders.

Winch, pick one. They all are price vs longevity compromise.

Suspension: I love my Metalcloak 3.5" game changer.

Gearing: 4.56. I run 4.10 with my 37" on an auto and am very happy with it.

Tires; not a fan of either of your choices. I guess toyo of the two. Definitely the trail graphs over the mud graps.
