Default Attack of the Death Wobble

Ok I had had death wobble before, and I know the common cause for it is your trackbar backet, I know because last time I had it my trackbar backet ripped off. So with that said I have been running a weld in JKS front trackbar backet for years now. Now I would notice some bump steer from time to time, but nothing bad. Well this past weekend it went from bump steer to death wobble, and death wobble at any little bump. So I have crawled under the jeep and turned my wheels back in forth and the trackbar backet looks fine. The only thing I can see is were steering stablilzer attatches to the drag link. That U-bolt clamp that the steering stablilzer is on is bent away from the drag link. Could this be causing my problem?

Have any other ideas?

I will get photos up later.

Don't think it's the steering stabilizer. Lots on the forum have run without them or with them non-functioning ie fluidless, wtc with no issue. I would search the thread on death wobble and go down the check list there. Check your track bar bolts for proper torque, try the upsized bolts and check your bolt holes for wallow as a start. Good luck.

A few more details about your rig would help. Like what year, lift and other mods. Also mileage, if it has some miles on it the problem can be from shot ball joints and everyone knows the factory ball joints are not the best!!

not trying to sound like a smart a$$, but you know how I fixed mine?

I traded it in on a new 2012 rubi! Seriously tho, mine was getting so bad, I just couldn't even drive it anymore... so I limped into the dealership and now its their problem.

And there's no change to the front suspension design in the 12's so the same problem will probably develope.

believe me... its taken more then 30 minutes to diagnose! I've had at least a dozen people look at the problem and everything is tight and in line! Drive components are all tight... castor is set to what Rough Country dictates... I realize the suspension is the same, however, there won't be a RC lift installed.

Sorry to hijack and inject absolutely no useful information.

Not too mention dangerous for the poor sucker that takes it for a test drive or worse buys it without warning

I have watched your videos... and still am unable to clearly identify anything creating or even adding to the wobble.

Every bolt on the suspension had been checked and retorqued, yet am unable to determine its cause... I've added adjustable control arms and trackbar to adjust the toe and castor to the manufacturers spec... still having the issue.

These issues were disclosed to the dealer and should be addressed in their inspection prior to selling... so if your done lecturing and care to step off your soapbox for a minute, I will again, apologize to the OP for hijacking the thread.
