Yes it would be good, actually it would be down right great! Guess how I know...

You do not need a JK specific one. You need the Dana30 27 Spline model and depending on your gear ration 3.73 up or down. I cannot recall the part number I got sorry.

Again...I dont rock crawl on a weekly basis. And because I had to replace the unit for regearing purposes, the truetrac fits all of my requirements without being cost prohibitive.
Thanks for the feed back. That's what I wanted to hear.

If you search aussie on here almost every thread someone is having a problem with them. No joke I spent almost 4hours searching yesterday on this forum. Could not hardly find anything on the truetrac.

And if you get on you tube a search detroit truetrac most vids are filmed with trucks and suv's in the snow. Showing how well they do in slick conditions. Almost all were in the rear axle.

I love my Aussie but it is a full-time auto locker. If you are doing new gears, I would install the Truetrac at the same time. You won't even know the Truetrac is there but it will give you much greater traction than just an open differential.

I have a lockright in the front, kinda clunky on slow tight turns, other than that, works great off-road.

I will do some research on the lockright. Just don't want a loud locker. You know what I mean. I guess no problems with your lockright?

Never had a truetrac in a JK, but had one in the front of my Bronco. I did a solid axle conversion (D44, 4.56) and running 38.5" TSL's is held up great with near locker like traction (you could over power it, but it took a whole lot to do it). I chose it mainly because it has no wear parts (clutches, disc, etc). I served me well and I would recomend it to anyone.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Decided to go with truetrac up front. Then later throwing in a E locker in the rear.

To everyone that replied thanks for your insight.
