I am planning on installing the 35's on my 2011 rubi unlimited, and was wondering how the 4:10's will work for this setup? I realize i should probably regear, but can this work for me until i have the ability to do a regearing? Not sure of power loss over the 33's i currently run.

 

you will be fine, I have been running heavy 35s with 3.73s for 2 years and its not horrible. It depends on where you live, just turn OD off if its a huge deal.

 

The 3.8 already sucks, the 4:10's aren't horrible but I'm regearing to 5:13's

 

Get yourself a Superchips 3875 programmer, once they have them programmed for the 2011 and you will be just fine.

 

I've had 35's on my Auto-Unlimited for more than a year with 4.10's and it's been just fine. I'm not trying to win any street races and I live in a flat area which helps. She still does just fine off the beat'n path as well as the highway.

That said, I still have my heart set on 5.13's in the somewhat near future (knock on wood!).

 

5.13s are the final answer but for now go superchips so at least your transmission shifts at the right rpm. You eventually need both.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong but, just a side note. If yours is a Rubi and your wanting to re-gear, your going to be buying new lockers also. Just so you know

you are incorrect......OEM E-locker works just fine with lower gear set....

My Rubi - 513's and 6spd. (35's then up to 37's) happy with decision.
My Brothers Rubi 513's auto (35's) and he wishes he went with the 538's.

If you can, try to line up and go for a ride with a fellow mbr who has gears already done. More and more mbrs have this done, hopefully someone can help you out.

I have a 2007 Unlimited Rubicon with an automatic transmission. I've had 35" tires on for around four months. Before I put on the new tires I was all set to regear as soon as possible. However, after driving it with the new setup I'm not in much of a rush. The Jeep was sluggish before and it's sluggish now. It downshifted on hills before and it does it now (although more often). Even in California with hills everywhere it's very livable.

I don't drive on the freeway on a daily basis. I have a short commute and it's all surface streets. My gas mileage stunk with the stock tires and it still stinks now. Depending on how far you drive on a daily basis (and on the types of roads) you might see different results.
