Automated Car Wash
my buddy used to own a tunnel car wash. he had to turn away the hummer h2 with stock wheels/tires, not sure what size they are, but big. then he changed the line and it was much wider, something different about the rollers too. then he had no problems taking all sized tires. just depends if the car wash is newer or not with new equipment. it killed him that i would literally see him everyday and NEVER wash my Jeep TJ. i washed it once, the day i sold it, so the new owner would have a clean jeep
Do any of you guys who currently own 12.5 wide tires have problems fitting your tire in between those rails so that you're car (in neutral) is slowly being moved through the car wash??
I normally wash my jk by hand, but in Canadian winter .. this winter especially .. I have to go for the underbody wash due to amount of salt they put on the roads

The last time I went to an automated wash was three years ago at Waterway with my '94 Blazer. Some kid took a towel he just used to dry my chrome exhaust and scrubbed all over the body. Looks like I have brushed aluminum for paint now. I invested in a pressure washer that I use for my undercarriage, so I can take all the time I want while washing without a damn beeping noise when I'm running out of time.
Try -20C with a Relative Humidity of 80% or greater....you will find out damn quick that it feels just as cold as -40C.
You can't use a "hose and a bucket" when it doesn't get above freezing for months at a time.
The touchless car washes I use don't "make your top leak" or "damage your windows".
What they do accomplish is to get the salt and calcium chloride off of my jeep. During warmer months I hand wash.

You can but it's not pleasant. I did it when I was in Minnesota and Colorado. The latter was actually worse, because I didn't have a sheltered area.
