Available custom hoods?
I simply don't understand what went through the minds of those who designed JK hoods like the Ansani Designs or the TMD.
Hot air should be vented out.
Hot air goes up, and accumulates just under the hood.
Vents should allow hot air to escape, regardless of whether the Jeep is moving fast, slowly, or not at all.
The Ansani designs hood, for instance, doesn't vent at all. It allows air, and water/mud splashes to enter from the front...
How would that efficiently cool anything at the back, near the firewall, around, say, the battery? even at high speed, not to mention crawling speed?!
How would such hoods cool anything during SLOW offroading, when cooling is needed the most?!
A bit of wind from the front would stop the front looking slot from venting hot air.
The River Raider hood is an example for a much better design.
The vents are located where it counts -- at the back, and wouldn't direct splashes right into the engine bay.

Honestly, after seeing the 10th Anniversary Rubi hood out at EJS, I hope they release that hood to be purchased. It looks good and functional.
I just hope it doesn't have a standard MOPAR price tag.

...and, unfortunately, this one too, is designed for looks rather than functionality.
The Nemesis hood, BTW, is better, and the center vents at least aren't looking forward or upwards (like the AEV). Can't find it on their website...

You can get the 10 anny hood for $450 shipped thru moparsupercenter.com. I ordered one then cancelled due to back order and rethinking the best way to spend $650 after paint.
