I was in Colorado Springs this past weekend and visited with the owner of Avenger Superchargers. From my discussion with him, it sounds like the Avenger Supercharger JK kit will be in the production phase in 3 to 4 months. I had the opportunity to see the Avenger Supercharger JK first hand and view all of the components they had installed. The Avenger Supercharger looks like a nice system and the sound of that jeep pulling up next to you will definately turn some heads.

The owner is in the process of having it dyno tested both with and without the supercharger installed, and will also have Daimler Chrysler run some tests. All in all, it is a well thought out system. In the future if I decide I need more horsepower, a supercharger sounds like the more economical way to go rather than a pricey Hemi conversion in my opinion.

Jared-
Thanks. I emailed them and he told me to hang on-I'd like to see the numbers on it. Their supposed to crank out decent power and be reliable - we'll see.

I have been pestering Hesco ( www.hesco.us ) about their supercharger (Vortec style, fits under the hood with no cutting). BUT. I am still waiting. And waiting. and waiting. The "contact us" question was replied with "It is not available yet. No date for release." type of response.

I ass-u-me that both companies would rather get it right the first time, rather that have customers knocking at their door with blown engines. I would rather they get it right the first time. When I figure that a supercharger will set me back 6 to 8 grand (installed with Unichip or whatever power programmer and intercooler) I'd rather wait for them to get it right...........

6 to 8 grand for a supercharger?!?! Jo Crazy!

I would think $2-3K (or MAYBE around $4K) is a more reasonable estimate, unless you're having someone else do the install for you...

Well, by the time you include shipping, and maybe taxes, oh wait, there are some miscellaneous pieces required.........

Actually, Hesco is listing the supercharger for $3800 (at this writing). Add another $1200 for the Unichip w/ programming. (we're at $5000), Add another grand for the intercooler, plumbing, wiring and we are at $6000. (which is my original estimate. low end).

So I took my low estimate and added 25% to come up with $8000. If it costs less (than 6 grand) I'll be pleasantly surprised...............

Having done many a project, there is one rule that I always figure up front. A project at first glance takes twice as long and costs three times as much as expected. (big projects) Sometimes little projects are even worse!

anyone know what PSI this will run? If its low enough an intercooler is not always needed. But even with an intercooler, all other needed componets and SC i dont see how the kit could cost over $5k...
