Default Axle Questions

Still kind of a newb on a lot of this so hopefully some of you guys can help out. I have a friend with a 60 front and 80 rear off a mid 90's 3/4 dodge and he is just looking to get rid of them cheap. I'm currently on 37's and have my 30 gusseted and sleeved but am always worried I'm going to snap something at anytime not to mention I would love to go up to 40's. I realize a 60 and 80 are probably overkill for anything I am ever going to do but in the long run would it be worth it just for a piece of mind on my part. I guess I don't know what all is really involved so any help would be great.

If you can get them for cheap and have access to a good fabricator this could be a good deal. Remember your JK has sensors on the hubs.... you can make these work pretty certain. Depends on time/money.

It does seem like an 80 would be overkill. May be big enough to get in the way when wheeling.

JK's get real heavy, real fast. In general a semi float or full float 60 MAY be a great option, but that 80 is a little more security....

The pumpkin on that rear 80 is huge. Unless you are definitely going to the 40's you'll be dragging that thing all over the place like a boat anchor.

Take the front 60. And leave the 80. It hangs too low for 37s, in my opinion.

The Dodge front 60 is low pinion I believe. Check on that.
