axle sleeves?

axle sleeves?

i keep hearing about these sleeves and gussets. i have seen an install and understand the gussets, but how do the sleeves work, do they fit on the outside or inside the axle, and what holds them there

basically they slide inside the tube and you tack weld them in as I understand it...just reinforces the overall tube strength by essentially thickening up the wall.

what about sleeves for the outside of the tube? those exist?? if not patent pending!!!

Mt Logan Offroad sells external sleeves and I think they are the only ones that do. You could also consider a truss.

hope the external ones are two peice. i'm thinking of doing both inside and out with gussets and better axles. i'd really like to get the better axles before the stock ones break again so i can have some "get me home" spares.

Yep, the external sleeves are two piece, or four piece really if you count both sides.
