Default Axles before Tcase?

I'm looking to get more crawl, and am on a budget. My gears right now are holding my rig back, and i'm ready for the next level.

I'm thinking of getting some rubi take-off axels, or a Tcase. the Tcase is cheaper, and in my final plans, but what do i do first. is there any problems with getting more crawl out of my Tcase and leaving my gears the way they are. it will give me better highway mileage with the lower rearend gears.

Will i be risking more damage with the torque before the rear end?

i have a 6spd with 3.21s

thanks

You need to regear the axles. Even if you do the tcase, you'll still be lugging the motor when in hi. The 3.8L in the JK doesn't necessarily get the best mileage with the lowest rpms. It's power band doesn't really start until about 2300 rpm, so cruising below that can actually result in poorer mileage depending on conditions. You also could get better mileage in city driving because the motor won't have to work as hard to get up to speed in stop-and-go.

my onroad milage is not bad... so long as i use 5th on the highway.
i should note that my future plans are to run 36 or 37s with a relitivly low susp lift and flat fenders.

Rubi axles, keep them at stock 4.10's.

Then decide how soon you are going to 37's:
Soon-ish = re-gear to 4.88 and slap the tires on.
A ways down the road = get the tcase.
