Default Back firing

I have an '09 two door X with a 2" lift and 33's. new battery and the only issue is my starter is going, which will be replaced this week.

On Monday, I pulled out of my driveway and within a few seconds, my rpm's dropped and I lost power to my gas pedal. A second later I heard a 'pop, pop' out of my exhaust and when done everything went back to normal. Any ideas why this would happen?

Has it ever done this before? You might do a hard hard reset and disconnect the battery, then drive it and see if it happens again.

It's never happened before and hasn't happened since. I'll unplug the battery and see what happens - but I'm curious how that'll help?

I had it happen before. The computer cables (under the hood) were loose.
