Default backspacing for a 14.50?

I have a spare set of 16" crager soft 8's with 5" backspacing. im aware that this wont work but what about 1.25" spacers with them? that would put me at 3.75" backspacing. is that to much or should i give it a go? the tires will be 35 -14.50 boggers.

I had a set of Stockton's made with 3.5" bs, 16x10. and 38x14.5 Toyo's.
No rubbing until my trac bar went bad, instead of steering the axle shifted side to side and tire rubbed the frame, Teraflex forged trac bar fixe it and alls good!

Well, if you consider a 12.5" tire on a 4.5" bs wheel is the norm and works well... 14.5" is 1" wider per side... would be the equivalent if you ran a 3.5" bs wheel. Or you achieved bs from spacers. I would only GUESS that you can get away with the 3.75" too but you COULD have a little rubbing on your sway bar links if anything. 1.5" spacer and you will be golden.

I've got the same soft 8's running Swamper TSL's 36x13x16's with spacers. They seem to do OK (no rubbing so far), but I'll know more after taking it out this weekend.
