I have been told by a mechanic friend of mine at a 4 wheel shop, that he has seen slop develop in the sector shaft from wear, and was the cause of DW when nothing else could be found to be the cause.

Stupid question... where are these balljoints located? Are they between the knuckle and the C? If so, are they really balljoints? They only rotate on 1 axis...

Only the bottom one is a true ball joint.
