Default Ball Joints

I just had new ball joints put on my 2008 JK everything is really tight now much much better. Problem is the steering almost seems to tight is this normal? Ive never had to have ball joints replaced in anything Ive ever owned so I have nothing to go by. Is there anything I can do to make this any better?

Thanks

What brand ball joints did you go with?

One or two brands are supposed to run tight for the first 1000 miles.

For what it's worth, I just replaced mine with some Moogs and things are good.

It took me a week or two to dial in the steering afterwards - but now I'm very happy with things.

I'm extremely picky with my JK's handling.. and I found that after the ball joints were replaced, you really had to be accurate with the toe in. A simple 3/16-INCH turn of the drag link adjuster was enough to throw off good steering feedback.

Why did you replace them?
I've got an 07 Rubicon with almost 100,000 miles on original BFG Mud Terrains and all original suspension parts driving high speed highways and mud/rock offroad when available.

There is only one reason to replace them.
People have had them wear out in as little a 12,000 miles; maybe less.

Mine are a little over half worn at 58,000 miles. No handling symptoms as yet.

I actually had about 120-125K miles on the stock ball joints... they lowers started to exhibit some play. Mainly the drivers side lower ball joint.

They were wore out and wouldn't pass our state inspection.
