Default Battery set up options

Hey guys so I'm looking to possibly get lockers this summer with some on board air and I figure between my offroad windshield lights, winch, cb radio and on board air if better look into a new battery set up

My plan is a dual battery set up. I'm hearing a lot of hate on the optima batteries even though I used to hear so many reccomendations back in the day?

I'm in Canada so whatever ships here is an option, whatever doesn't ...too bad.

So I'm looking for advice on what batteries and what trays you'd recommend for the above mods.

I really liked the nemesis dual battery tray and this is my absolute first option but I can't find info anywhere on whether or not it will fit with a rugged ridge snorkel.

I run the RR snorkel and will try to speak to both the Smitty and the Nemesis guys try to figure out that very question. I'll let you know what answer I get.

No problem. The Nem and Smitty are about my only options due to space limitations. https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/modi...mption-267738/

I'm planning on welding in a deeper pan in the rear tub where the jack is kept and mounting a secondary battery and compressor. I might even locate both batteries back there. More room under the hood for a snorkle.

Off road swag already makes the pan.

That's a nice idea too I am torn on whether I want to mount my onboard air in the engine bay or in the cargo area. My initial thought is I spend a lot if money on a compressor so why not keep it out of mud and rain and Heat and put it in the back. My second thought is...how loud is that gonna be?

My VIAIR 400 is not loud at all. But I did mount it under the hood with an EOD bracket.

It takes a bit of work but dual batteries will fit fine although tight in the 12+ in the factory location. It is what I am running and it works great.
