Default BB question

Looking to get a 2" to 2.5" budget boost on my JK Unlimited, but I'm hearing conflicting stories. Some say the stock shocks are not long enough, and some say they are. What is the downside to not getting new shocks after installing a BB? Do I need them? I'd like to wait until OME comes out with some shocks and install those, instead of buying a BB with shocks included (which also bumps the price up about three-fold). Any wisdom or experience ya'll can offer will be most appreciated.

If I am not mistaken, the old shocks will slightly hinder your flex with a new lift.

Just an FYI, I am getting a Superlift 2" BB with shocks on Friday, with 33" tires on the factory wheels. The price is not that bad for the SL with shocks.

I totally like mine with a similar setup. The package is offered with the optional shocks, but you could install some later if you really needed too. SAVE MONEY NOW, SO YOU CAN GET MORE ACCESSORIES LATER-

The Teraflex 2.5'' gives you shock extentions so you can reuse the stock
shocks or upgrade to new shocks

I went with the tera 2.5 with shock extensions. I am very very happy with it and like you don't plan on upgrading the shocks until I have to or the OME's are out.

I think the 2.5 with 33's looks good too.

I went with the 17" wheel group...I'd rather put a kid through Tulane than keep putting Iroks on 17's. I'm looking to get some cheap 16" steel wheels for the trails, and stock 17's with AT's for the road.

That's what I needed to hear, thanks guys. I had a few people (a salesman...I know, I know...but I was told he knew what he was talking about...) tell me the stock shocks are not long enough, they will bottom out when you rebound after hitting a bump once the BB is installed.

One more question...how does the ESP respond with the Teraflex 2.5" BB? No complaints?

I haven't had any issues with the ESP after the tera lift. I haven't even straightened the steering wheel. I have put about 400 miles on it since lifting. I did get to do some highway time tonight and I can tell the steering wheel is off just a tad. I will work on slowly getting it back to center.

Using the stock shocks (even with the extenders) will slightly reduce your flex. I am not hardcore and would probably not even notice how much it is reduced. I do plan on getting new shocks sometime down the road. I just want to wait for some better options to come out. I am very happy with my tera lift, and at 225 shipped you can't beat it in my opinion.
