Default BB and shock help

Ok well here we go.... I was looking at some bb kits and I wanted to keep it as simple as possible but still get some lift to fit larger tires.

I was looking at the Black Diamond 2 inch spacer lift. Does anyone have any reviews? How effective is it? how much lift with mopar bumpers and a winch? Difficult install?

I was also looking at getting the old man emu nitrocharger shocks and doing both at the same time. Same questions as before. Difficulty of install? Will it improve the ride?

Any information would be greatly appreciated as these are just some ideas that I was toying around with....

What size tires are you considering? 33's or 35's? If you are considering 35's look at the TF 2.5" BB with shocks. Seems like the best bang for your buck.

I was planning on 33's. I don't want to do anything major right now since it is my DD. I figured the BB would be a good option and the OME shocks would be worth the money.

Anyone have any install advice? I have relatively no experience and I was looking to do this myself to save some money/ get drunk and play in the garage with some buddies.

There is a Write-Ups area full of, you guessed it, Write-Ups!! It doesn't even have to be a BB write-up. They all use the same basic steps. Disconnect some stuff, pull the coils out, put the spacer on top, reverse it...

I've been running the Black Diamond BB with Black Diamond shocks for almost 3 years without any complaints. The install is pretty strait forward, as I recall the toughest part of the install was getting the new bumpstops installed. Remove the shocks, release the swaybars, let the axle droop until you can remove the springs and stock spacer, remove the stock bumpstops, press in new bumpstops, install lift spacers and springs, raise the axle, reconnect swaybars, install new shocks. I didn't need to remove mine, but keep an eye on the brakelines to make sure you do not over extend them.

The effectiveness of the lift with heavier bumpers and a winch is the same as any BB you will get 2" over stock, so it depends on how your stock springs hold up. My 2 door had a stock# 6313/6314 spring combination up front and sagged pretty badly with the extra bumper/winch weight. I recently swapped those out for a stiffer set of 6317 front springs off a 4dr Rubicon and got an extra 1.75" of lift compared to my origional sagging springs. Another option if you need a little more lift is to leave the stock spacers in, effectivly giving you a 3" BB.

Can't comment on the old man emu shocks since I've never ran them but shocks are easy to replace.

I have a black diamond BB. I would say its about 3" in the rear and 3" in the front with warn bumper and winch. Kit is fine but make sure it comes with disconnects. I got this already on from previous owner and it still has stock disconnects. Kits fine and rides fine

I will be selling this setup when I order my new lift in a month.

Are disconnects needed? I just ordered it and I don't think it comes with them.
