Default BDS 4.5” vs Teraflex ST3

Hey guys, new member here.
Looking for a lift on my Jeep and would like some advice.
im debating between the BDS 4.5” lift with all 8 Gen II adjustable control arms with flex joints, front and rear track bars, with Fox shocks which I can get for $2400, or the Teraflex ST3 with Falcon 3.3 shocks for $3000.
the BDS comes with more at a way better price, But Teraflex has the badass falcon shocks and bump stops.
This is my DD so about 80% of my driving is on-road and 20% off-road. I’m looking for a lift that is comfortable, reliable, and capable.
I tried doing some research, and for some reason I can’t find many reviews on the BDS kits. The ones I did find are all older reviews from 2011ish area. I was hoping to get some insight on the new Gen II BDS control arms if anyone has any experience with them.
Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Teraflex speed bumps are a joke. Piece of foam in a can. These are not an air bump and are a rip off. Falcon shocks are overrated and people have regretted getting them. Stupid expensive. BDS is a shit company, I would avoid them. I have not seem the arms you speak of. Lots of kits out there that are better. Metal Cloak, Currie, Genright, Clayton, Off Road Evolution. If you are going to spend that much for shocks just go with a coil over system or a bypass shock.
I wish I spent 60 days a year wheeling, must be nice.

Dirtman doesn't beat around the bush and tells it like it is. Those Falcon shocks look nice, and that is pretty much what drives the sales more than anything. Lot of money that would be better spent elsewhere IMO. $2400-$3k gets you a really nice lift. Check out the other brands suggested above. A lot of us would much prefer Metalcloak these days. Is there some reason you need to be 4.5" high? Are you planning on running 40"+ tires? If not, that type of height isn't needed and the high COG isn't going to help you much. Lift to accommodate the tire, not just for looks.

Thank you guys for the help. I’m looking at the Metalcloak game changer 3.5 now after your suggestions and just the control arms alone look like they’re on a whole other level in comparison to the BDS and Teraflex kits. I’ve heard of the Metalcloak brand and just assumed it was primarily for off-road and thought it would give a rough on-road ride, but after going through the forums and looking at everyone’s reviews, I was very wrong. I’m still going to look at the other brands you guys mentioned, but I gotta say, I’m really liking the Metalcloak kit

As a Metalcloak 2.5" Game Changer lift kit owner I can assure you that you will not be disappointed if you go MC.

Good call. I've been running on MC 3.5" coils for about 6 years now, so of course they get another upvote from me, but definitely better to research and compare multiple options.

Have you mentioned what tire size you are running and maybe I missed it?

Which shocks are you looking at? Fairly favorable reviews from MC Rocksports, but certainly not as fancy or 'badass' as the Falcon. If you are considering the 6pak's, be sure to do some more reading before jumping in.

Glad to hear another upvote for MC. I’m currently running 35’s and would like to stay at this size since it is my daily, but I’ve been itching to move up to 37’s. I’m thinking I’ll go based on if the 3.5 makes my 35’s look tiny lol. If I do go with MC, I’ll more than likely go with the rocksports. The 6pak’s are way too far out of budget for me, and it looks like the fox shocks give you less travel, so rocksports seem like the way to go.

If you're gonna go 37s, save room in the budget for brakes, complete steering, and driveshafts....on top of all the little stuff like gears and traction control.

And ball joints, I have a set of Rare Parts BJ's waiting to go in, and when you do the bj's is also a good time to reinforce the "C"'s.
