BDS LIFT vs TERAFLEX
Looking at buying a Jeep jk and lifting it. A few dealers have some already lifted with 3" BDS kits. I was going to do mine with a Teraflex but they really want to sell these. I guess im curious how BDS compares with the Teraflex? Any thoughts???
I have the 3" BDS lift on mine. It is a GREAT lift. The Teraflex however, does get excellent reviews. The one difference I can comment on is...the BDS only gives you an actual 3" of lift, whereas the Teraflex lift (I think) gives you a little more then that. That is important because the higher you go over 3", the more likely it becomes that you will need to replace your driveshafts down the road. Another advantage I can see with going with the Jeep already lifted...the dealer might charge a little more, but, they also should not give you any hassles if you should have to bring it in for any work needing done on it. They should not be able to tell you "it's not covered under warranty because of the lift" since THEY installed it and sold it that way
though i dont have the BDS lift i have their adjustable front track bar and i think its well made and heavy duty, though my 4x4 shop "ok auto" in nj thinks they are great and they do have a lifetime warranty..
If you are looking at GDS in Maryville they seem to be big into the BDS lifts, I would check with axleboy (636) 939-5337 in St. Peters and ask them there opinion. Every shop I talked with alway had the same comment about TF "they make great gear" Hard to hear that and then go with another brand.
I do not think there is a lift on the market as good as the teraflex. The 3" TF is going to give you about 4.25 inches of lift so down the road when you add bumpers and winch you will still have a three inch lift with the extra weight. Go teraflex and never look back. The TF control arms adj track bar are in a leage of there own as far as heavy duty goes.

I have the 3" BDS and really like it a lot. It handles great on road and flexes good off road. I have heard great things about TF lifts also. What really sold me on the BDS is the no questions asked warranty.
very happy with Teraflex 3"kit(yes did raise my 2 door over 4")Aces on road and off,as far as warranty or backing product I think Joe Thompson from Teraflex would be pretty hard to beat(just see how active he is on this site)has helped me more than once.I have no experience with BDS so cannot comment but again no regrets with Teraflex
