Default BDS Suspensions/Lift

Has anyone ever heard of BDS? My local off road shop promotes these and claim they are a great product. I have been on the BDS website and the warrantee appears to be the best on the market. The shop said they would install the 3" lift for $1300.00. I'm just not sure of the quality of lift/product.

I do understand that shop promote/push products that they make the most money on. There is an option to upgrade to FOX shocks for a fee.

The shop also says that no drive shaft issues.

I'm looking at getting a 3-31/2 lift and run 35's on my 2013 JKUR. Jeep is a DD but I do go off road and plan on some rock crawling.

I have a 3 inch BDS which I picked up second hand. I got rid of the BDS shocks and got bilstein 5100s. The coils aren't bad no complaints but I would never pay anyone to do a lift on a jeep. $1300 can be spent on much better mods. I would take that money and put it towards a Rock krawler lift with control arms and do the work yourself. You'll be much more satisfied knowing you did the work

BDS makes a great lift kit and they have great customer service.

$1300 for the install and kit or is it separate?

I'm selling the same lift kit, brand new in box for half of that. Not sure where your at but I'd even help install it for free.

I have a 3" BDS on my 13 JKU. The dealer installed it in a deal I struck when I traded my 11 in. The did the lift as well as swapped my wheels numbers and added 35's. I looks good. I will not be testing it until April at rausch creek but as far as on road it is good. I did no even upgrade the shocks for the basic BDS shocks. But I will be swapping for the fox as soon as I get the $$$.

Love my BDS lift!! The install is not too bad if you are mechanically inclined at all. I am happy with the BDS shocks that come with it. I was told the fox shocks ride a lot stiffer so I didn't want that for mostly DD. And are you located in Charlotte by chance? My shop sold me on it too!!

Default BDS Suspension lift

I have the bds 3" suspension lift on my unlimited as well. I can say it does not come complete as you might already know this? I needed to order an adjustable front track bar and adjustable front lower control arms to make the on pavement ride tolerable. IMO save for a more complete kit that has all the goodies. I will most likely change out my suspension down the road but, not anytime soon. The shop that did the install on my jku also said my front drive shaft would be fine. Well, guess what? I will have to change out my front drive shaft because, of the gnarly angle at the output shaft & grease is starting to squeeze it's way out! Be prepared to swap out you front shaft if you lift 3" or above. It may not happen tomorrow but, it will happen. There is alot of false info out there on the matter. I'm not hating.

Just saying...

I have the BDS 4.5" short arm - it's been on my JK for about 2 years. Very quiet - no squeaking noises whatsoever, and I've heard that's an issue with other lifts. My only regret is not going with the long arm, and wishing I'd done the install myself

I have had mine for three years. It was installed at the dealer. The "no questions asked" warranty is BS. I had two sway bar link failures(separately) in the first three thousand miles. I called BDS and was informed I had to take it back to the dealer (1.5 hrs away) and have them replace it. I politely requested they send me the new one and I could just send the old one back. NOPE !! How about I order and pay for one, and when you get the old one back, you credit me? NOPE!!

Okay , not happy, I went back to dealer and they replaced it. Half a day wasted along with $40 iin fuel and $6 in tolls.

Two weeks later the other side broke. I called them and explained my frustration and requested they send me a replacement
The result ?? "You have to take it back to the dealer"

I replaced them with JKS and have not had anymore problems.

My experience with them sucked.

Have 3@ bds on my 13 unlimited. I opted to go ahead and upgrade to the fox shocks. Couldn't be happier.
