Yea I saw that! That's what got me thinking about what wheels I want , the total is $1500 for all 5 wheels. Is that a good deal/ are they good wheels? I wonder how they'd look on my stock jku until I get my lift

You know, getting ready for whatever happens never ends.
e.g.: The chance of getting stuck with a dead battery is hundreds of percents greater than popping a tire off the rim (at, say, ~15psi or more). Do you have dual batteries?
Skid plates? Medical kit? Radio communication? Extra water & fuel? Grill insert, so a stone doesn't damage the radiator? -- and the list goes on.
Any item, on this list, is more likely to be useful than beadlocks.

The best "insurance" is to offroad together with at least one more Jeep.

I say this because popping a bead is super rare compared to a list of other, much more common potential problems. In years of offroading, I have yet to see a 15psi tire pop off on my or another Jeep.

I poured quite a bit of money on my Rubi... and made it capable & reliable for anything but the most extreme (although it has proven itself on some pretty tough boulders & steps), yet keep it's "manners" on the road. Beadlocks are not on the list.

Think on what you spend the money, as you may find other mods or accessories to be more practical, effective and reassuring.

I haven't thought of it that way. I thought popping a bead was alot more common than you say it is. I'll definitely be looking into what I want vs. what I need or what's more important. Thanks for your advice

The beadlocks remind me of the survival knife I carry when offroading... It's the best quality there is, and it isn't cheap.
Did I ever have to use it? No... What's the chance I'd ever have to use it? Probably none...
But, it's on me every time...

Why not start a new thread -- 'Did you ever pop a bid at 15 psi or more?'
Or -- 'What's the highest psi you ever popped a bid?'

(For those interested in knives --
It's the Extrema Ratio FULCRUM C
EXTREMA RATIO -=KNIVES DIVISION=-
Click the 'Back Up' knives.
For longer than a day trips, deep into "nowhere", it's the Extrema Ratio ONTOS, click the 'Survival Knives')

Why not just change to the spare tire if you come off the bead then aim home for the day? Sounds much cheaper than $1.5K in beadlocks especially if you are not going crazy in your jeep. You can get new customized beadlocks for a few hundred dollars cheaper if you search around the net. I have a set of 5 being made.

I haven't thought of that. But I was thinking, if I ever have the need for bead locks I'll just get the wheels I choose converted to bead locks. In the mean time, I'll use your spare idea

Thanks,
Sean
