I know in most states multi piece wheels are illegal, dot approved or not. With that said I've never had an issue with mine. I'd say most cops out there have no idea what a beadlock is. I have the psc spyderlocks, same ones WOL has but mine are 18" instead of 20". I torque check the bolts every week on the lock ring and none ever move. Plus it's impossible to damage the valve stem. Love mine.
do you like the way the spyders handle on road. cause thats where most of my driving will take place, i just want a strong beadlock for when i do hit moab. never had em before so trying to learn
The Hutchison Rock Monsters are my favorite too and they claim to be DOT compliant and street legal.
Hutchison manufactures wheels for military and government applications which requires testing and certification, so they may have run these commercial rims through a similar process.
The more affordable AEV beadlocks are DOT compliant.
Some beadlocks like the Racelines have a relatively low tire pressure restriction on them. I have seen these rims on the road but the max recommended tire pressure is ~25 psi.
Maybe someone that owns these can comment on their performance.

No issues on the road at all. They ride like a normal wheel, just stronger. I daily drive on mine. The large rings do take a beating and prevent the wheel from getting any rock rash.
x2 on the spyder locks i love mine. they are very strong wheel and i drive mine on the road as well. they do hold alot of mud, ice and snow but are well worth the protection you gain.
i would buy them again. here is a pic of mine. i would recomend going with no powder coated ring. they take a beating offroading and don't look pretty long.

and here is one clean and new

I also live in colorado and have fallen in love with the look and off-road ability of the spyderlocks. The distributer is also located here in colorado and am very interested. I was talking to someone about they yesterday and they said they are not DOT approved but I am curious if anyone has had any problems with theirs yet?
I love my Hutchinson rock monsters made for Mopar. I got mine in a trade so I didnt have to pay the high price for them, I got lucky . I think that you get what you pay for and these are well worth the money. They are DOT approved and seems like like they built these for the military being is how heavy they are. My second choice would be Spyderlock.
