a thing to remember...... Just because you were ticketed does not mean law enforcement was correct... They make mistakes all the time. Safety wise that is an entirely different argument.

Default Slabs discontinued?

I'm currently looking for either Spyderlocks or Slabs. I was told by two vendors that the slab isn't being made anymore? Is this true? Bottom line is Where can I get the best deal for either of the two? Do we have someone on the forum any of you guys have used? Thanks for the help.

ps I tried pm'ng the person that may have the buy 2 get one free deal but his inbox was full so no luck there.

That's crap. (Or, at least, VERY recent news that no one I know has heard about. ) Look for JeepAddOns-chris. He's got the best deal for Slabs.

I can't find the actual state reg # but it says " in violation of the city of Honolulu, county of Honolulu ordnances and disregard of state law you are here by fined not to exceed $3250". I only had to pay $430. Either way Hawaii kind of does what it wants with regards to the law.

Lovin' my beadlocks.. We wheel fairly tough terrain and I've only had them on about 2 months. They've saved my wheel/tire several times in the TWO times I've had it out wheeling since building the Jeep. Pinching while climbing rock shelves and this last time I was stuck in a little creek bottom and the only traction I had trying to get out was my right tire riding on the beadlock ring (yay for side traction and some side lugs) with the tire pinched almost flat against the creek wall and a tree root. I was laying back on my drag bar; fortunately a friend helped with a winch or the Jeep might still be there.

They aint' beauty rings - if they're real beadlocks and not scratched up all I have to say is - You're doing it wrong. Right now all my rings have rock rash of varying degrees that would have chipped regular rims. Of-course for genuine testement to their strength check out Mel's rig (EVO).

I'd avoid any beadlock without recessed bolts.

No problems at all daily driving. Takes a little more maintenance -- when ice freezes in there or mud is clogged up in the wheel it tends to mess up the balance! If it collects water I keep a rag handy for soaking it out before it freezes and of-course wipe down after the trail to get heavy mud out so it'll drive nicely at Interstate speeds.

I had someone ask - I purchased mine thru EVO but I think Northridge may be able to source them now too.

Hard to tell with the sun shining on it but this ring has a nice nature provided heavily brushed aluminum custom finish. haha
