Bedliner application question
Firstly, I have to say that bedliner is my new favorite coating. It's the first time I use this stuff and it's so easy to work with and it dries so quickly. So here's how my bedlined fuel door turned out;
Before
it was chromed which I scuffed up and painted but that flaked off in no time.

After a wet sand blast followed by three coats of self etching primer

Final product with three coats of bedliner

I have a similar situation going on with some bedliner I put inside my fenderwells. Power washer removed it like it was dirt.
Im going to try the self ecthing primer next time around. Cant hurt and like you said, want it to stick this time.

Self etching primer certainly wouldn't hurt, but have you considered having it powder coated? Probably wouldnt cost much at all. How aere you planning on applying the bedliner, brush or spray?

I'm going to use RustCheck bedliner or preferably Duplicolor Bedliner if I can ever find the canned stuff here in Canada. Seems like all I can find is the gallon of roll on stuff with kevlar.

I've never done primer on anything I've bedlined and its held up fine. I've done my wheels, skids, and rocker guards like this with no problem. As long the metal is cleaned good and scuffed it should stick fine.
