Default Bedtred by Bedrug

I have been considering pulling the carpet and installing Line-X. I have been caught in the rain a few times. My carpet smells a little funky. Not unbearable. The few times I had standing water I pulled it and let it dry. I just came across Bedtred by Bedrug today. Anybody used this? It would appear that if you got drenched you'd have to pull it just like the carpet to get to the plugs. Is it a pain to put back down? Does it in fact dry quicker than carpet? Only hesitation with Line-X is the heat and noise. Thoughts on Line-X vs this product?

i've had bedrug (the carpet like one) in my JKU pretty much since it became available (16 months?) i am topless/doorless year round and it lives outside 24x7 (admittedly in california). it's been rained in at least a dozen times and i've been thru water crossings with water level over the door sills. i have taken out all the drain plugs and leave them out. it drains and dries quickly. i have no mold or smell. when it gets muddy you can just hose it out (or wait for the next rain). it fits pretty well, a few areas it's not exact but pretty good. i prefer it to bedlined tubs as i tend to be barefoot a lot and they can get hot. noise isn't really a consideration as i have no doors/top. overall i'd recommend it.

Yeah, what he said... :-)
I have the bed tred in the bed of my truck and it has been used a lot and gets rained on quite a bit here in Arkansas. It still looks brand new, dries out quickly and doesn't smell at all. I'm going to get the bed tred for my JK for myself for Christmas. I have it bedlined currently, it's hot from engine heat and the plugs stay out. Water in, water out.

I have the Bedtred installed in my JKU, and I'm very happy with it. You will have to pull it out to get to the plugs, but it's pretty easy to take in and out. I just hose off, let it dry, then put it back in. It will definitely dry quicker than carpet. How I ended up with it is basically the same reason you're asking. Carpet got wet, I thought it was all dry and left the Jeep closed up for a few days while I was gone. When I got back in and realized that the carpet had that funky smell I just pulled it out and threw it away. Bedtred was a huge improvement and was much easier than an actual liner product, although you will have to remove it to get to the plugs, unlike a roll on or spray on liner.

I know some guys have it and haven't heard any complaints from them. I really like it but it is pricey.

I believe there is a $30 rebate being offered on them right now, I saw the ad from Northridge. I'm probably going to go ahead and pull the trigger on a set.

Just pull the drain plugs and do not put them back in, the only time I could see this biting you in the ass is in the apocalypse if you had to drive through a poison gas cloud it could leak in the plug holes, but your jeep is not air tight even with the plugs in.

no plugs can also bite you if you do lots of water crossings. the water comes in those holes too! of course, if you don't have any doors, then the water is coming in anyway, so no plugs is the way to go.
