Default Bent C help!

I saw the write up for gusset's for the C's on our JK's and did not think I had an issue... WRONG! The left side is bent enough to have a half inch ride height problem.... Noticable camber .... OK so I am going to order the gussets but how do I corect the damage done..... If an offset spindle will do it where do I find this..... No hard off road yet but LOD bumper , TMAX winch and jack weight must have caused this.....Only got 265 MTZ's and an OME lift.... Little bummed about this but I love this thing..... Thanks folks

Half inch ride height what? Are you saying this is something you can see with your eye? A side to side ride height problem will make camber look funny. The best place to find a bent C is on an alignment rack. There is another way with a level and a angle finder.

Picture?

To answer your question, there is no easy way to fix a bent C on the axle.

You can use offset ball joints to gain up to 2degree of camber. Then add the C2 gusets to help prevent further bending.

Double check your ride height via the springs. It may be that one of them has sagged mor ethan the other. With 265's it's not really likely that you have bent the inner c's unless you have really beat on the front end. Check your toe-in. Sometimes the lower section of your tires will "drag" out causing it to look like you have a camber problem. If you are toe-out and stop after rolling forward, or if you have too much toe-in and stop after rolling backwards it will cause this. Post a pic if you can.

Well you could go the hard route and replace it, would require a weld/gouger to remove the weld from the C2 and tube, OEM replacement & re-welding of the new one back on. Or as suggested use an offset (personally wouldn't go that route).

But in the end definitely go with Evolution's C2 Gussets, put mine on last week and love them, coupled with the D44 diff/tube gussets we're putting on next week front/rear these D44s will be pretty darn stout for abuse.

My local garage guy is an ok ARC welder, but I'd have to find another welder for MIG/TIG. Is ARC welding ok for these gussets?

Thanks,
js.

Quick little welding 101:
Arc welding uses an electrical power source (AC or DC) so TIG, MIG & electrode or stick welding (what you are referring to as ARC) are all considered ARC welding. Your local garage guy is talking about stick welding and if he uses something like a 3/32" 7018 rod that will be super strong and a clean weld. If he wants to use 6011 it'll be strong but unless he's really good and can stack dimes it's going to look like crap not that you can really see it where it's located/installed on the Jeep, but I'm picky so up to you. Just tell him to use 7018 or 9018 either is fine, whatever he has. The C2 and C2 gussets can all use the same 7018 electrodes.

Excellent! Thanks for the info Sasquatch -- I was indeed talking about stick welding.

Thanks,
