Default Bent frame

During topless for tatas last weekend I took a hard hit doing shoot the moon. At first I thought I bent the bumper but after it was taken off it was clear the frame horn was smashed in. Everything was tweaked sway bar and alignment were off. I did a few measurements and everything on the left was pushed back about half an inch and you can see the stress on the body mounts. Combination of shitty spotting and me bumping the jeep and it finally hooking were the main reasons it happened. Shopped for for quotes prices vary but one shop all said and done to have it pulled and aligned would be around 600. It's what I'm leaning towards doing but figured I'd post up and get some input.

First off, I'm not a frame or body expert. But my rubicon was in a wreck last year and had frame damage on the front. If I recall, the front portion of the frame can be ordered as a solid piece and welded in (depending on how far back on the frame the damage is). I don't recall the cost (insurance covered it along with other body damage). But may be worth looking into if you're concerned about repairing the existing frame.

That's crossed my mind but after the shop took a look at it I don't think it goes all the way through and if it does it's gotta be real slight. Even with the alignment off it still drives straight, no crazy differences in breaking or turning. When the frame diamonds it would show up in the rear and there were no clear signs that it was. Only real way to know is to get it up on the machine and have measured.

I actually went back and looked at the shop report from my wreck. It was $1,400 for parts alone on the front frame chassis. Of course that was from the dealership (and an insurance claim), so I'm sure that the price was inflated. Anyways, good luck with the repair. Hope everything works out whichever route you go.

That looks like the crumple zone which is designed to do what it did in an impact.

Just a thought but maybe cut it off and do something like a PSC BFH bumper?

I know that, it was the clearest pic to show the hit. The crush zone absorbed most of the impact but the rest transferred into the rest of the frame. I wish it was easy as cutting it out.

Well u can always go to mopar and buy a replacement frame and transfer all the bolt on parts to the new frame. Its not cheap but it will be fixed and ur old frame has value to the offroad crowd who want to modify a frame.

I'm a body tech. From what I can see in the pic i'd say $600 is a decent price. If you can take it to a shop that has a laser measuring system. You can ask them for a print out of your frame before and after the repair. There's no reason to replace anything from what I can see. It looks like a simple straight forward repair.

The same shop that quoted the 600 has a system like that. When they took a look at it they showed me print outs before and after of another repair they were doing. I think the machine was called car o tronic or something like that.
