Love this, I'd like to see how it's installed, do you have any better pics or maybe instructions/guidance? Thanks.

On another note, I am not an expert at anything especially winches and winching but after watching the video of the cable breaking all I can say is that they are lucky that no one got hurt. You have two little kids standing close by who don't know any better, I'd hate to see them killed or injured. Should've had a blanket on that cable and everyone should been clear. I've seen a man cut in half by a parted cable (safety training film, not in person), don't want to see it again.

Recon winches 11k winch with synthetic line works great and it's affordable.. I used it for over a year on my last rig.

Are all winches able to deal with rain, snow, and puddle splashes with a covering over it? Or will waterproof winches be better?

Our XRC 9500 Waterproof had a problem with freespooling straight out of the box. It is being replaced under warranty so hopefully it was just a fluke.

I also am running the XCR 9.5. You cannot freespool the cable off this winch. The motor stalls way too soon for me. The mounting system is questionable. I would not recommend this winch to anyone who is going to rely on it getting them unstuck. If you are just looking for a bumper decoration at a good price, go for it.. My last jeep I had a 9.5ti warn and loved it. I will be investing in a new one soon.

What do you mean?

I can dress pool xrc 9.5 gen 2 just fine/ you have to disengage clutch.

The motor stalls?

yes I know how to disengage the winch. Maybe with 3 guys pulling on cable you might free wheel it. And yes it stalls out the motor way too quick. Also gets hot just reeling cable up. Stuck in a snow drift last week, no problem, lets just winch out. Winch could not single line pull my JK out. Not enough cable and straps to use shive block, so I shoveled. Very disappointed in this winch.

I am not going to say that Warn is the best winch out there. There are others that I have no experience with.
