Default best brand gear set

I'm going to upgrade my 08 rubicon from 4.10 to 5.13 gears. I notice a $50 to $100 difference in the brands of gears. What is the difference in the gears?

From what I read when changing out my gears.... The majority are made by one manufacturer and sold under numerous names.... So most of them are the same product... Just marketed under different name. My advice... Find the best price and go with it.

Yukons probably have the best reviews, but as noted, all 'JK' gears are made in the same 2 or 3 overseas factories and re-branded. None are US made.

Compare prices and warranties and get what you like.

This won't help the OP but there is now an option for those that want 4.88s. U.S. Gear now makes a 4.88 JK D44 gear. If you need 4.88s, that will be your best option as it will have better quality control than the overseas competitors.

Good to know. There have been rumors floating around for a while now that someone was going to start making them here, but hadn't heard that they have started. Hopefully they will expand to other ratio's soon?
