Default Best muffler for JK

I am considering a muffler for my JK to improve performance and sound. Don't want it too loud, as I enjoy my music. Recommodendations?

You will hear a lot of different opinions here on the forums.

But, a lot of people here recommend the magnaflow or MBRP. MBRP has a nice power increase.

It's not the cheapest option, but it's a nice, all stainless muffler (every single piece--even the welds and clamps); it relocates the muffler to where the evap canister is (so you must move that where it's better protected); and it has a very nice note that the shop selected because it sounds good, but isn't as loud as the other options out there.

JeepSWAG

With my muffler relocated, that opens up the area under the storage cubbie for other things--such as an enlargement kit from JeepSWAG, or the GenRight extra gas tank.

I looked at your profile and you look like you already have a lot of stuff (including a muffler) on your JK?

Honestly i think the best silencer is the one that comes on it.

You are not going to pick up any power with a cat back and most i have heard sound just wrong on a jeep. Honestly if you throw a cold air; headers; full exhaust you MIGHT gain 15 HP and i mean MIGHT. You also might LOOSE power as engines are tuned for some back pressure.

Now if you gave the engine some more advance AND threw intake/exhaust at it you would pick up even more power but again probably not enough to feel in the seat of the pants. Honestly without a cam change/ forced induction you are very limited on how much power you can squeeze out of a stock motor; as shockingly the factory knows what they are doing.

I have built a lot of motors in a LOT of cars so i am speaking from experience. If you like the sound go for it

but if you think you are going to gain any power with simple bolt ons

good luck

I'm no where near an expert but put the mbrp off road exhaust on mine yesterday. It sounds great loud when you step on it but 80 on the interstate no drone talk in normal volume. As far as hp it's a jeep but it does seem to breath a little easier, now if I can get the K&n drop in and programmer.

Dynomax! but what else would I say?

Couple of things that are cool about us.
Made in the USA!
90 Day risk free trial offer on our exhaust systems, don't like, return it!
Right now we have our Sound Off rebate going on for our JK systems.
We have 5 different systems for the JK.
Many guys one here have installed this system in their garage in under an hour.
Just a muffler? Look to the Ultra Flo Welded Polshed.

Good luck in your choice.
