Default Best Performance Mods for the Buck

I am new to this game and already have dumped allot of cash in a short period of time. My lift and 35's go on next week and I am concerned about power loss... I had a Dodge 1500 with a Hemi that I drove like it was stolen for 6 years, so this 3.8 has been an adjustment! What is the best bang for the buck performance upgrade? I assume that a Cold Air Intake would be a good place to start? If so, would the Volant 17638 kit be the one to focus on?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

I don't think a cold air intake does anything, others would disagree I'm sure, but to me its a waste of money.

I would agree. I think it is mental, when you spend money on your Jeep, your mind tells you it helps.....even if it didn't. IMO

Go with the gears....that will get you the power you desire...

Gears give you no change in power, it just changes how the power from the engine is put to the ground.. Plus it will cost you at least a grand. The easiest way to boost power is a CAI and exhaust. I have the airaid and flowmaster on my jeep and they have definitely made an improvement in power, torque, and mpg, and both of those cost less than half of a gear change, unless you are doing it yourself. The main reason people think that they don't work is because they improve the sound as well... and that engine sounding better makes you subconsciously step on the skinny pedal more hahaha which reduces fuel economy and makes people bitch about wasting money on the intake and exhaust. Just my opinion though I guess.

Edit: Just fyi, if I had the money I would def do the supercharger. Just a thought if you have $5K to blow lol

A supercharger and a Hemi are out off the table for now, and It sounds like gears may be more that I can swing right now as well? I am leaning towards a CAI and exhaust assuming that there is something to be gained. A better sounding Jeep will not be a bad side effect either!

-About how much should gears be if I have them installed?
-If I do pursue a CAI and Exhaust, what ones will yield the most Torque?

From what I've read on here you get a few horsepower from a cat back exhaust and a water locked engine from a CAI. You might also look at some of the electronic tuners out there. Flashpaq just introduced one that sounds interesting.
