Lots of us run a 48" behind spare tire and I've got my cb mounted on footmans loop above mirror. Its out of sight. Quadratec sells whole set up with cb 16' cable and fire stick ant for like $140-150

We mounted out antenna to the spare tire area. The tail gate has a gromment that the 3rd brake light wiring runs through so it is easy access. It also makes it easy to keep all the wiring hidden behind the panels in the the tailgate.

We then mounted the radio itself right next to the shifter on the passenger side so it doesn't get in the way of the driver. We then mounted the mic on the left side of the Jeeps radio.

Mine is mounted above rear view using a Strike Force Zebra mount. All wires through plastic headers. I reinforced the Uniden bracket to reduce the shaking.

This is the Cooltech Ultramount for Antenna. Sounds like you might not want a side mounted one though.

Are you asking about the CB position interfering with the hardtop? If so...no issue. Just put the hardtop back on yesterday as a matter of fact. The handle locks over the footman loop without touching any part of the radio. Mine is a '12.

My fire stick is mounted to the tire carrier and my Cobra is under the dash. It's the one that has all the controls on the handset. Once you unplug it, you'd never know it was there.
