Default Best Problem to Have...$$$$

So hopefully I'll be selling my motorcycle that I've had resting in my garage for far too long and I may have some cash that I need to get rid of. My wife (I'm a blessed man) told me that I could only spend the money I get from selling a toy on another toy. Man I love her! I've fallen in love with the idea of a coilover system. She's my daily driver and I try to get her dirty every weekend. Living where I do I have access to Pismo Dunes and several trails and OHV areas so I like to do as much rock climbing as possible. What I'm looking for in the coilover system is something that will give me speed on the dunes and plenty of guts for climbing. I think I'm sold on the Offroad Evo bolt on system but I need to call them and have a pretty frank talk about everything that I'll need besides brakeline extensions and new driveshafts.

Bottom line...does anyone near Santa Maria or Santa Barbara, CA run the Evo Bolt-on system? Before I drop $5k I really want to see what the ride is line for myself.

For those that run these systems how do you like them? I've read pretty much every thread out there and I've never heard a bad word on the ride of a coilover system. I've read some heated threads between Rebel and WOL on which system is best as well. Really, I just need to ride in one to feel for myself.

The system will be purchased for a 2011 JKUR, Auto, BFG 35 w/AEV wheels, running a 4ish" lift with rough country 2.5 coils and several spacers and Skyjacker Hydro shocks, DIY snorkel (Doesn't matter, I'm just proud of my snorkel). The ride is pretty nice as it is but some of the dips at the dunes would take me out in a heartbeat if I went too fast.

Default Additionally...

Should I also look at running a long arm kit with coilovers or will a shortarm work too? I've heard long arms improve ride quality as well as the standard offroad improvements.

I'll complicate things further and say if your intent is to go fast, you're going to itch for the double throw down and not the bolt on coilovers. Throw in a long arm kit and your 5k is now over 10k

Excellent kit!!

You might want to consider contacting Chris from Evo on here. They are a site sponsor and he can set you up with exactly what you are looking for.

Don't forget to start a build thread when you get this all going!! You will have a pretty badass rig!

I somewhat agree with this post but I would actually save the money until stuff starts breaking. That is, assuming you have a build that you already enjoy. As stuff starts to fall apart, use the money to rebuild. That's the stage I'm at. I have money to spend but my Jeep is fully capable right now so I am holding off on swapping out perfectly good equipment. Now, if my Jeep was stock or I had major issues on the trails, I'd be more than happy to spend it!

I contacted EVO today but I didn't get a return call I know they're pretty busy so I'm not hurt. I've looked at EVO's more expensive kits and would love to go that route but the money just isn't there. As far as waiting goes...not a bad idea. I'm fairly happy with my lift now but hate the fact that I'm riding no 2.5" coils and spacers. I'd love to get off the spacers completely. I debated going with the Plush Ride Coil and a long arm kit but with the price of a LA kit being "close" to the Coilovers I thought...why not just go for what I really want? I really want to do the work myself and because I'm not a welder, the bolt-on kit really caught my eye.

I really need to talk to EVO about all of their options before I jump but swinging that much is a little too much. I've even looked at the PreRunner kit that Teraflex put out but I want a well rounded machine. If the money was there I'd have that kit in a heartbeat.

How do you like the ON road ride of your kit?

well,,, if you want a ride in a Rebel bolt on coil over system, I am wheeling in Big Bear on Friday with a friend who has it on his new '13 JKUR. I'm sure he would love to demo it for you. I will be in my jeep which has a custom 3 link system, but rides on 14" 2.5 coilovers. I would also give you a ride. A third jeep going is an 08 JKUR on old man emu 4" springs, spacers, and fox 2.0's with reservoir and 8 way adjuster. All these jeeps are running 37's. We are doing Gold Mtn and John Bull trails. Its a long drive for you, but it would be fun!!

Man, that sounds perfect. Unfortunately, I have to work on Friday and help a friend move on Saturday. I've been wanting to head up to Big Bear for a long time now and that would give me a great reason. How do you like your coilover system? Any regrets from moving from a Coil and shock system?
