Default Best rim and tire combo for 07 jk???

I have a stock 07 JK and I am probably going with Mamba M7 wheels. What is the largest or best tire that will fit on these wheels? Should I go with the 17's or 18's? The 5x5 offset options for them are:

17x9 12mm and 20mm

18x9 0mm

Your forgetting to ask: what is the largest size tire that will fit under a stock JK - 33's ( with some rubbing ).

A little research goes a long way, here's the link to the FAQ.

Good link, thanks. I'm now looking at an 18x9 wheel with 5" of backspacing. Can I swing 285/70/18's or is that too much?
