Default The best towing set-up. Stock bumper and aftermarket

Searched a few times but didn't really find an answer.

I'm going to be doing some towing and am wondering what tow hitch I should go with? (A small, box trailer)
I have a stock bumper now but I'll shoot for ARB rear bumper later this year. Does this change anything? Do they bolt on under the bumper to the frame or through the bumper frame?

2nd question, will one brand work better then another when the bumper swap happens? ...
Hidden hitch
Draw tite
Rugged ridge....
?

I really don't know what I should be looking for. Thanks.

Thanks! Good to know.
Did you install the hitch? I'm assuming you have a stock bumper as well.

See if you can dig up the Instal Instructions on the bumpers you're considering. It should mention whether or not they retain the factory reciever.

Some bumpers also state "for accessories only, not for towing" be very careful! I have factory tow hitch off ebay and tow a 26' offshore boat!

most aftermarket bumpers will say that, not because they don't work, but to avoid being sued in case of an accident.

Good Idea TonyT:
I couldn't find online install instructions however I did find this:
"Protecting the rear of the JK, ARB's replacement rear bumper... has been designed to work with the OE towing package and recovery points. "
Also good to know:
"Made to accommodate up to a 35 tire"

I'll be looking for the best price on a OE tow package now!
But just from looking at it from the underside view I would have never guessed I could have gone with the OE option. BUt I've found a few sales site that say it will, Hope they are right.

If a bumper company doesn't want warrant that the 2" square tubing they welded in can handle the tounge weight of a trailer, I don't want to do business with them. Say I have my 26' boat on the back. Their product fails....so who's at fault? If I can buy a aftermarket hitch that will rate their product for bumper pulling, aftermarket bumper manuf. should be able to as well. Let's see $1000 bumper or $40,000 boat? I'll stick with rated hitches.

you're right about not doing business with them, its better to go with someone that backs up their product, I was just saying that this happens a lot with aftermarket products, including the old "for off road use only" also to begin with the jk towing capacity in the United States is rated a lot lower than any other place in the world, we go back to companies being afraid of being sued specially in the United States.
