Default Bestop Trektop...anyone?

So, I just upgraded to the Trektop NX, and am looking at selling my Trektop. This is one of the more recent models with the rear tailgate bar. I had this on the Jeep for roughly 6 months and loved it. This thing is water TIGHT, and very quick to take down/put on. Included is the installation manual and all hardware EXCEPT one of the windshield header knobs. After I removed the top, by son got a hold of the knob and now its gone. I called Crystal at Bestop, and a new knob kit is $21.99. Either way, first $325 takes the top. Really don't wanna ship as it would cost an arm and a leg...local pickup in Stafford, VA is preferred. Thanks!

Chuck

Default NX Install

Yeah, it took me about 4 hours, but then again, I did it by myself in the garage, between 8pm and midnight, while it was 40 degrees outside. The pictures in the directions were not at all clear, and I ended up having to mount and remount the brackets that attach to the rear roll bar several times. All that said though, I will say that the trouble was absolutely worth it. I have absolutely NO wind noise with this top, and because of the props, have decided NOT to buy a hard top for the winter. I love the sunrider feature, and the safari top feature. All in all, I love the top...so far

I put one on last summer and here in Hawaii in the mid 90's and it was TIGHT! I couldn't imagine putting one on in the winter. The directions were kinda fuzzy but it really wasn't too bad other than trying to clamp down the header on its initial installation. I actually went back to my factory soft top to give me room in the back. I do like the look but the windows can be a pain to put back on, especially if you're in a hurry. The tailgate bar is garbage as well and most people on this forum (including myself) just use the factory soft top bar. I'll go back to the trektop when it starts getting warmer here (mid 80's to 90's).

Warmer ? Mid 80's to 90's? That's a heat wave...

With all due respect, I hate you.

I scraped ice off my windshield this morning.

It's ok, I'll be honest, I never thought I'd say this but I miss the winter. I miss being able to get in my car and just going on a road trip. It's even worse since I got my jeep because there's nothing left to explore in Hawaii. At least not on Oahu. I hated the cold weather for the longest time and I can thank the army for that but now that I'm close to retiring, I want to get out and see the country, especially after reading through the "expedition modded jeeps" thread....

The NX is a pain, I still don't have it up all the way... Please tell me it's worth the effort! And that as I break it in it gets easier, I've been stuck on just the windows for more then an hour and since that's something I'll be doing daily I'm really starting to worry.

Had mine on for a couple months now, pain to install but definitely easier to remove the windows now. I think it's totally worth the effort, looks killer and I haven't had any leaks!
