I think you have to know what to expect from soft doors. I dont't have them on my jk. but I've seen them in different jeeps. as someone said before is just better than no doors.

$800 for soft doors? Why do that? The only advantages I can see are less weight, and they would keep you hard doors at home, protected from the trail.

I won't be doing this. Nope.

I have them, they don't leak, they are more waterproof than my hard doors...no more soft top leak. Took some time to adjust and bend them and set collars right. Once done they work great, the latch is hard to operate from the inside but is much easier now that I have used them for a couple of weeks.

These are not a qquick adjust item like the directions make them out to be, you do have to play with them and finese the fit. Once done they hold up great (so far anyhow). I would buy them again in a heart beat. I can decide in the middle of the day to go doorless and toss them in the back, done deal. Can't do that with hard doors.

I was wondering this about the soft doors. Reall thinking of buying them when I get the money ...

ya ya'll are saying they're garbage basically, compared to older models.
More of a convienience when it comes to it. I mean ya it sucks to have rain pouring in or maybe snow coming in, but it is better than no doors. I have my hard doors, and I have done major damage to the drivers side on the trail ...

Which makes me want the soft doors for easy trail rides and no doors for the more difficult trails ..

BUT ... all in all they're lightweight right. Not a pain in the ass .. im more convienience than luxury.

Not to mention the fact of hard doors when your in the middle of nowhere and wanna take em off! THEY ACTUALLY FIT IN THE BACK! I have tried! It was pretty pathetic though.

Anyways ... so you just basically have to manipulate em if they don't seal right???

I might be writing one of you guys that knows how to do it ... way later on. As 800$ is a lot for doors it'll be a few few months before they arrive.

I also want these doors. I've been wanting them since before I bought my jk. That may have been part of the motivation behind buying it. I live in Illinois where my 30 minute morning commute is a little brisk but it's door-off weather on the way home. Not to mention that it could storm at the drop of a hat. Then i'm driving home in a wet seat. I have to say that I'm disapointed in what I'm hearing here.

I downloaded the installation manual for the doors to see if maybe there was by chance some overlooked solution. This is what I read.

WARNING!
"The doors in this product are
designed only for protection
against the elements. Do not
rely on the doors to contain occupants within the vehicle
or to protect against injury during an accident."

Sounds like they don't even do that! What a bummer.

haha it's 2010. Bought full set of softies for my JK.

If anything, they got worse.

I got to place the door and fit it, and the hinge snaps off from the weld. The hinge was hardly tacked!!

Then the other side, the door was just bent out of shape beyond fitment.

What does bestop do? Send me an entire other set of doors (all 4). So in essence, I have 2 sets of soft doors for my JKU - 8 doors lol.

They leak pretty bad - if I had no carpets (noise deadening - my DD), i wouldn't care, but the carpets soak a lot of water, and then it gets musky.

The issue is that the doors don't have any weight to them to properly seal. The door could have easily been designed better to seal better - but sad fact it ain't.

If you're afraid to get your carpets wet - don't buy the doors.
