Which is Better
I see the winches have two different cable guides. One is the roller and the other is the flat slot. Which one is the best for the average "new" Jeep Owner? Seems to me the flat opening might wear on the cable.
Thanks for the advise.

hawse...slot
roller fairlead... 4 rollers
either work fine... synthetic line uses aluminum or steel hawse. steel cable must uses steel hawse. roller works for both.
hawse has no moving parts to "mess up" and has a cleaner look

An aluminum hawse works well for synthetic, because the synthetic cannot get stuck in the rollers. Many think that the will be fine with synthetic, but for the cost of synthetic I think I'll choose not to find out. The roller is going to be better overall. Another consideration is weight. The roller is pretty heavy. I seem to remember 18 pounds.
Thank you for the help. I think I will go with the rollers since I will be using cable and do not want to go to the synthetic stuff due to cost, primarily.
Have an 08 Unlimited Rubicon in Red Rock Crystal.
First Modification was the temp. gauge for the auto-trans.
Second Mod. was the Cline-O-meter.
Third Mod. will be the bumper and I really like the looks of Nates for the JK
4th mod will be the winch. Leaning hard at the Superwinch.
Thanks again for the help.
