Default Better Stock Front Bumper

I'm getting a new front bumper and decided to toy around with the stock unit to see if it could look better with a few mods.
This may have been done but it's simple and improves everything about it.

Removed rediculous plastic cover.
Cut off the bumper "crush cans" and sanded smooth.
Tack Welded metal plates in the large holes.
Painted it all up and mounted license plate for street drivin.

Not bad. Better than plastic for sure.

The crush cans are enginered to absorb the impact during a low speed frontal crash. This is designed to prevent the airbags from deploying.
Remove the crush cans and increase the probability of the bags deployment during a low speed (say 5mph) impact.
I will keep mine intact, thank you.

That is a good point and I thought about not removing them for a split second. Where exactly are your "crush cans" mounted on your horse and buggy? Couldn't help it.

Default I did this too...

I did the same mod to my bumper, well almost the same. I removed the plastic cover, beat the crush cans off with a sledge, ground the welds and repainted the entire bumper. Looks much better! I wondered if anybody else had done this, now I know! I have attached a pic.

I was thinking of doing something simular but replace the hooks with some shackles and cut off the ends to make it a stubby. Looks a lot better then the plastic
