BFG AT's
ok so seeins there isn't much feedback on the general's my next pick is the BFG AT's, how are you guy's likeing them ? I've read online they don't balance well ( take a ton of weights) BUT also don't wear well some are only getting 30,000 out of them, I've had these in the past on other vehicles and they were good and lasted well to 60,000, has the new design screwed them up ? any impute would be great....thanks in advance
I've got them in the 35 's and I love them, bought them for the snow and ice here in the black hills of south Dakota, mine balanced fine nothing excessive..I only have 10k on them but not much ware to speak of.. much quitter than the originals.
don't know much about the ko2s. Ive used the old style for years and was allways impressed. The wore good and did much better in the woods then the mild tread pattern would make you think they would. that said I just bought a set of ridge grapplers. Mostly because just like you I heard to many stories about poor wear and balancing problems on the new ones.
The first set of tires I put on our JKU was AT KO's. They did take more weight to balance than the Nitto's and Toyo's I've recently run. But they performed fine. They wore evenly and we never had any weird wear or vibrations. I removed them at 65K miles and sold them. I've always easily got 60k miles out of every set that I've ever used and in my opinion they are the most aggressive looking all terrain tires available.
Mine didn't take anymore weight to balance than a smaller mud tire I ran in the past. They ride fine and I expect them to last much longer than my Swampers. Wear is all relative- what would you consider "enough" mileage? I run for max 2 years and then move on to a new tire.

The KO2's have great user rating on tirerack.com across the board.
BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2
I've had them installed since the beginning of November and have no complaints. They've worked great in the snow so far. Most reports I've seen, are at least 60K mile life.

I run KO2's in their 37x12.5 and have to say that these are probably the best damn tires I have ever used. I have about ~ 15k miles on them now and haven't even put a dent in the tread yet.
They are not as good in the mud compared to the KM2's that they replaced but I'm also not driving in the mud everyday....
