Cool Bfg km2 help

This is probably a simple question ... But can anyone give me some info on the bfg Km2? I love the rugged ridge 17x9 rim with 33's, and I was wondering what the specs would be ok the km2 tire to fit ok the 17inch rim. I'm new to all this, would the specs be 33x12 r17? Or just send me the link with the tire specs I need.

Thanks for all the help,

Jon

285/70 R17 would be the equivalent of a 33, google BFG KM2 Sizes and it will give you a chart of sizes.

35 X 12.5 r17 so yours would be 33 X 12.5 r17

I would try and get a C load rated KM2 if you can. I know the 35x12.5x17s are all D rated, I'd prefer C's though.

Thanks! This is exactly what I needed. How do you know that 285/70 is a 33?

Ride quality on our JK really. Factory rubicon tire is a C rated, my Km2s are D. Basically it is how much weight/load each tire can handle. C is fine for a JK, D is more full size truck rated. However, a lot of tires come in D's, stiffer ride really on a JK

Looks like from the BFG site that they only have D for the 33 for the 17" rim

Metric sizes are easy to convert to standard sizes. The first number is the tires width in millimetters. Apx 25.4 mm=1 inch. So divide the first number by 25.4 and you get apx 11.2. That particular tire size would be 11.2" wide. The second number is the height of the sidewall in comparison to the width. 285/70R17 means that one sidewall is 70% of the overall width of the tire. 11.2*.7=7.84, but you have a sidewall on either side of the rim, so double it - 15.68. The last number is the size of the rim. MTPOCKETS referred to a 285/70R17, so add 17 to the height you have so far and you get 32.68. The "R" means it is a radial tire.

If you really don't want to bust out a calculator everytime you want to convert metric sizes (like me) you can use this little MS Excel spreadsheet that I wrote for myself. I would say there are also plenty of them on the web, if you would rather just google it.

I just purchased bfg km2's...the equivalent size for a 33x12.5 r17 is 305...that is closest to 33 on a 17 rim
