When I had my BFG ATs they were dangerous on wet roads. Its was very easy to get over steer or under steer when going around a wet corner. Now that I changed to the MTZs I have had zero under steer or over steer and can drive faster and safer on wet roads.
The BFG ATs are well over due for an update.

The BFG's suck ass almost killed my wife and I slipped of the road,if I didn't have the Jeep jaws of life.
I found that the TJ would slide all the time in the rain, even when stopping in most conditions,I used to go around corners and give a little gas(yes in a TJ)and swing the tail end out for fun,my opinion is that if I even won a set of BFG's I would sell them

I now have the Mickey Thompson ATZ's and LOVE THEM
No more sliding when stopping or going around corners
There is now 4000kms on them and still have the nubs and seams on the tires, they are strong as hell and I have a feeling so far they will last a long time

I've had 2 different sets of BFG A/T KO's on my XJ for about 14 years now, and the wear has been great. They hold ballance well, and for moderate off-roading they're good. Sidewalls are better then most, however I will admit that in rain, they do break traction pretty easy. Probably due to the hard rubber tread that lasts so long, and the fact that my XJ is locked front and rear. I've never had them break loose to the point that I lost it, but then again I adjust my driving to the road conditions. The BFG's have gotten me through many winter snows here in Pa with little or no problems.
Since I've never had MT's, the only input I have is that they do appear to have a nice aggresive tread that looks like it would ride pretty smooth on road, and do well off-road in moderate conditions. A very nice looking tire.
Good luck with you're descision.
