And as for that Aluminum housing it looks like it goes back into the trans and I'm not exactly sure how that comes off without pulling the trans apart
Seems like you could do this. Find a larger screw to allow it to self tap it in. Aluminum is very soft and dont think you need to tap it before inserting a screw. Just enlarge the hole on the skid.

Gonna take a look at dropping that piece when I get home. If I can't get it you'll be hearing from me for some help. Thanks buddy.

If you can get it off, I would just heli coil the entire thing.

Default Update:

So after dealing with the spare adapter piece and not wanting to frig it up anymore than it already is, I'm having a shop order up a whole new assembly which comes as one unit from Chrysler (adapter and oil pan connected.) I'm going to pack up the Benchmark one and send it back since I never actually used it just fitted it. I'll most likely install the new piece and skid the whole front engine area for peace of mind. I really don't want to bore it out and end up having problems further down the road. On a separate note the Benchmark pan was incredibly stout and should be considered for anyone looking for oil pan protection it just didn't work out in my case. Hopefully I'll have the rig up and running next week sometime. Until then while it sits at my parents house I can install the Bushwacker Flat fenders that showed up for my birthday.... so there is a silver lining.

The aluminum is just really flimsy and helicoiling it would mean there might be a chance of a weak spot that I would have to deal with and I weighed the options and the fact that I'm only paying cost for the new oil pan and adapter rather than the 200% markup that I'd have to pay if I didn't have a friend here or there seems more logical at this point to me. Slap a RR skid on the front and be done with it.

Kinda bummed I'm not gonna make it out to Tata's this weekend but I'm gonna try and shoot for Labor day weekend to make up for it. I'll let you know either way. Thanks for offering to lend a hand, it's helpful to know there's good people around here still.
